May 12th: After arriving in Bran around 1:00PM, I will check-in at my next lodging site: Bran Chalet, a boutique hotel right next to my next activity. The rest of the day will be spent getting settled and going out into town to get food and get a sense of what the town is like.

May 13th: After breakfast at the hotel, I will take a 5-minute walk to my 5th book-related activity: a tour of Bran Castle. Bran Castle was the inspiration for Dracula's castle in Bram Stoker's 1897 novel, Dracula. The castle was constructed in 1377 and it is considered the most famous Romanian castle in existence. The castle is a historical and architectural monument that was restored in 2009 before being opened to tourists. I would be touring not only the castle and its gorgeous architecture, but also entering the "time tunnel," a hallway underneath the castle that displays an exhibition of Romanian history and folklore. After touring the castle and its grounds, I will get lunch at the Bran Castle Restaurant. The restaurant is hosted in the building that was originally Queen Maria's Tea House, and the menu features traditional Romanian cuisine.

May 14th: I left May 14th as another unplanned day, as I woul like to have the freedom to explore Bran and what is has to offer. Some options of activities are the medieval museum, the village museum, and the various churches and cathedrals in the area. I will also look for traditional restaurants and interesting shops in town.

May 15th: After breakfast and lunch, I will take a taxi back to Brasov, then catch a train to Bucharest so that I can wait at the airport for my flight.

Climate: Bran in May averages temperatures of low 40s to a high of 60 degrees Fahrenheit. The chance of rain is quite high, at 51%, and although the humidity percentage is high (84%), the day feels pretty chilly.
