May 4th: I plan to arrive in Oxford around 1:30PM, so I will get lunch somewhere before checking in at my next hotel, Henry's. I will be staying at this hotel for 3 nights. The rest of the day will be spent relaxing and freely exploring downtown Oxford.

May 5th: I have left May 5th as a completely unplanned day in Oxford, so as to give myself an opportunity to have spontaneous and authentic experiences. Oxford offers many shops, museums, restaurants, and sightseeing areas. I will be eating all 3 meals in restaurants, so have given myself a budget of $25 per meal to generously cover the total cost for the day.

May 6th: After going out and getting breakfast, I will take a 5-minute walk to my next book-related activity: touring Christ Church College and Cathederal. This college and its grounds were used as sets and backdrops in the movie adaptations of J.K Rowling's Harry Potter series. The books take place at a wizarding boarding school, so the architecture of Christ Church College creates the perfect ambience to mimic that setting. The guided college tour will take roughly an hour, while an additional tour of the gardens (just because I like horticulture) will take approximately 1.5 hours. After the tours, I will peruse my way through Oxford again, grab meals in town, and head to bed early since I am checking out the next day.

May 7th: I will check out of the hotel early in the morning, grab breakfast at a bakery, then make the 1-hour drive to London, UK. After arriving, I will drop off my rental car and head to the train station.

Climate: Oxford in May boasts temperatures of low 40s to low 60s Fahrenheit. The chance of rain and wind are the same as Birmingham and Bakewell.

Culture: Oxford is an extremely historically and culturally diverse city. It is the only city in Oxfordshire, an plays host to the University of Oxford, the oldest english-speaking university. Its architecture comes from the Anglo-Saxon period, and is well-known for its gorgeous buildings. Oxford is very popular for those who enjoy local breweries, bookshops, and museums. Ethnically, Oxford is quite diverse, with total population of over 162,000. It is also home to a number of religious groups.
